ECRAG is a society for early career researchers within the School of Health and Population Sciences (HaPS) at the University of Birmingham.
“Early career” is a self-defined title and we welcome anyone who is interested in developing research skills, understanding career progression within HaPS and most importantly meeting fellow researchers.
As cheesy as it may sound, the most valuable learning resource we have is each other! ECRAG provides a platform to discuss tips and tricks and follow the career paths of our members. Our ‘think ahead’ attitude encourages members to develop their skill set and training throughout their job role rather than think about this when contracts/PhDs are coming to an end. We provide advice and real life examples of how to keep active in academia and create the infamous academic citizenship.
This website will:
- complement our ECRAG meetings
- provide information on training and funding opportunities
- display blogs with advice from our members and senior staff
- showcase the research happening in HaPS by early career researchers- a great opportunity to disseminate your work!
ECRAG is a members driven society so please contact us if you have any suggestions/ requests/ queries/ blog post etc. We look forward to seeing you at our meetings!
